Biogas Upgrading Systems
Step into the future of clean energy with our state-of-the-art biogas upgrading systems
What is Biomethane?
At Ecosol Energy, we’re at the forefront of renewable energy solutions, specializing in the transformation of biogas into biomethane. But what exactly is biomethane?
Biomethane is a sustainable, renewable gas that’s produced when biogas, derived from organic waste, undergoes a process known as upgrading. This involves the removal of impurities and the increase of methane concentration, resulting in a clean, efficient energy source that’s virtually identical to natural gas.
Biomethane is not just an energy source; it’s a key player in the circular economy. The production process involves the use of organic waste materials, reducing landfill waste and greenhouse gas emissions. Plus, the byproduct of this process, known as digestate, can be used as a natural fertilizer, returning valuable nutrients to the soil.
As a versatile energy source, biomethane can be used in a variety of applications, from heating homes and businesses to powering vehicles. It’s a solution that doesn’t just benefit the environment, but also offers significant cost savings and energy efficiency.
At Ecosol Energy, we’re committed to harnessing the power of biomethane to create a more sustainable future. Discover more about our biogas upgrading systems and join us in our journey towards renewable energy.
The Biogas-to-Biomethane Upgrading Process
The biogas-to-biomethane upgrading process is a complex treatment that results in the removal of CO₂ from raw biogas. The process consists of several phases: a first pre-treatment step, followed by a filtration phase to remove pollutants (H₂S, VOCₛ) from biogas, and a final phase of methane (CH₄) separation from carbon dioxide by using membrane technology. The end result is biomethane, a renewable energy source that reduces emissions, exploits existing networks, and increases national production, with positive implications for resource circularity in the agri-food sector.
